Mission Statement

Strong businesses are great for society - they create jobs (not just in the company itself, but in the pipeline from materials to delivery), they solidify an ecomony, and also bring delight. The web can be a murky place, with it being so easy to companies to issue abuse. While companies have got good at defending themselves against infrastructure-based attacks like Denial of Service, countless malware still looks to hurt companies with affiliate jacking, customer journey hijacking and ruining the user experience. The skills to defend companies are still rare, but we look to do just this using experienced web engineers.

Origin Story

From building websites, to improving them, to defending them. Everyone loves a good origin story - here's ours.

We assembled our team using a variety of Customer Experience specialists. Having studied websites for many years, we know how much difference the smallest things can make to experience and conversion. With malware, there's definitely a lot we felt we needed to set right.

At SiteShield, most of our team started off life building websites - putting them together, piece by piece. In the last 10 years, the industry began to champion Solutions Engineering and Customer Experience - this is where we honed our skills and found we could deliver real value.

By spending the last 10 years in Experience Optimisation, we learnt how to craft web experiences - taking existing websites/web components and twisting them to look, behave and perform however we want.

This practise helped a lot of companies to thrive - it's been widely understood that the companies which experiment and use data-driven decisions are the ones who stand the best chance both of survival and to thrive.

By moving into website security, we get to use these skills to help defend websites - stopping customers from being hijacked or their bottom-lines from being drained.

We've spent many years understanding how websites work, how experiences render, and most importantly how to twist websites to behave the way we want - that's the nature of the Experience Optimisation world. Those skills are invaluable at SiteShield - many companies building this malware pour a lot of resources into development, TV advertising, PPC, etc., and build products which are challenging to track, break and remove. Thankfully, we're on the case.
